Individuals, corporations, and foundations have an exciting opportunity to help improve education where it is needed most: in the classroom.

Companies including BP, Aramco Services Company, Shell, Apache Corporation, Washington Times and United Copper are impacting the lives of teachers and students through the Ignite! Learning’s Adopt-A-COW program.

A Teacher’s Best Friend

Teachers are the core of what happens in the instructional lives of their students. The COW helps teachers and students in three significant ways:

COW Implementation Session, Pointe Coupee Parish, LA
COW Implementation Session, Pointe Coupee Parish, LA
  • Comprehensive, providing a full year of standards-aligned, grade-based curricula including lesson plans, classroom activities and assessments.
  • Motivational, offering engaging, instructional-designed media that fosters differentiated instruction while working in conjunction with the lesson plans or complementing your existing curriculum.
  • Easy-to-use, simply plug the COW in, turn it on and you’re ready to teach. No need for any external devices…only electricity.

Ignite! Learning Cows are aligned to state standards and include 3 full years of curriculum in:

  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies

How Adopt-A-COW Works

  • Individuals, corporations, and foundations procure COWs directly from Ignite! Learning or make a charitable donation to a 501c3 organization like the Education Foundation of Harris County or The Fund for Public Schools in New York.
  • Donors may:
    • Designate specific schools to receive COWs.
    • Find schools and teachers through the efforts of Ignite! Learning or local education officials.
    • The donor receives recognition by having their name placed on the COW (alternate forms of recognition are also possible).
    • COWs can either be purchased with a three year warranty or the COW can be subscribed to on an annual basis. In either case, Ignite! will maintain the equipment and update the content as available. Most COWs are donated for the first year leaving it up to the recipient to choose to renew the subscription in the subsequent years. Price sheets are available for both options upon request.

“It enhances learning. It excites the children. They grasp more, and they retain it longer.”

– Kathie Guillory, chairwoman of Fleming Middle School’s science department, Houston Chronicle

Why the Adopt-A-COW Program Works

  • Real and Immediate Reform
Immediately impacts middle and upper elementary public school education by arming teachers with a tool that is comprehensive, standards-aligned, highly motivational and easy-to-use.
  • Fights Boredom
All kids learn, but they just learn differently. Learning is an active process accomplished when students relate to the material. Today’s students are engaged by music, videos, and high levels of interactivity.
  • Low Maintenance
Ignite! Learning’s comprehensive maintenance and update agreement ensures each COW will function correctly every time. This agreement includes hardware repair or replacement as well software updates as they become available.
