The ION (Ignite! Over Network) is a software application that allows classroom teachers to access Ignite!'s curriculum from the school's LAN or WAN network. Once the software is installed on the server, teachers use their classroom computer to teach with Ignite!'s comprehensive, motivational, and easy-to-use curriculum.
"Ease of use and an excellent customer experience is as important to us as our solid curriculum," said Alan Davis, President and CEO of Ignite! Learning. "After hearing from our customers that a network-based platform would improve their implementation of the Ignite! curriculum, we developed a solution to meet their needs. The ION allows schools to purchase multi-seat licenses, giving many teachers the ability to access the Ignite! curriculum in their classrooms at the same time."
To maximize a school or district's investment in technology, the ION enables teachers to use Ignite!'s curriculum along side their built in presentation systems with interactive whiteboards, projectors, speakers, and computers. "Users of the ION will benefit from our recently announced SMART Accreditation, which gives educators confidence that our curriculum works seamlessly with the SMART Board to enhance the learning experience for students," said Davis.
The addition of the ION to the Ignite! suite of delivery platforms gives teachers the ability to implement the Ignite! curriculum in their classrooms no matter what technology environment exists. Regardless of whether schools choose the COW, the Brick, or the ION, the Ignite! Learning curriculum (including the media library, lesson plans, student activities and student workbooks) is the same.
