“I am contacting you to let you know the Ignite! system has had really impressive results in grades 5-8 in our district.”
I received this type of dialog in an email along with astounding visuals from a passionate Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Gonzales ISD, Denise Graves.
Denise not only provided a verbose email on the details of how Ignite! Learning boosted their district’s math and science scores, but she wanted to stop by the Ignite! Learning HQ to visit in person about their success and the future of digital content solutions. I could do nothing but accept her offer.
Minutes after initially being introduced to our multimedia, Denise knew it would be a hit with teachers and students. Their district has been using the digital curriculum for almost 3 years now. Although her words of success were powerful, I thought her provided imagery was incredible:
As you can see, their district’s Math scores jumped 9 points and their Science scores jumped 7 points over a two year period. Gonzales beat the State average for Math by 6 points and erased a 13 point deficit in Science to pull even with the State!
Gonzales ISD first implemented the Ignite! curriculum in their 5th and 6th grade RTI (Reponse to Intervention) class which focuses on low performing students. Those select students are what make-or-break the test scores, so their engagement was a priority for the district. Denise informed:
“Before Ignite!, our instructors relied only on printed materials with a few hands-on games. The RTI class is time-condensed, so the logistics of games were not ideal, and printed materials decreased the students’ attention. We knew Ignite! was a perfect answer because the lessons required almost no logistics on the teacher’s side. Most importantly, the students were running to class to interact with the media and sing the songs while practicing critical thinking, and then other students who would walk by the RTI classroom actually would stop to see what all of the excitement was about. All of these exciting happenings were anomalies before introducing Ignite!’s digital content.”
She went on to explain that as soon as they observed the obvious success of the solution after one year of adoption, Gonzales decided to implement the curriculum in all of it’s 5th-8th classrooms. Every teacher was requesting Ignite!, so it was time for implementation.
“The product training was, and still is, a huge strong point for the teachers. The Ignite! training team subjectively trained each teacher on how to Ignite! their classroom. We are also partial to the provided integration of our existing technologies like our SMART™ Board, SMART™ Response, and eInstruction CPS devices so students can interact with the digital environments.”
“I constantly tell other educators to contact the Ignite! team or at least try a FREE Trial to see how easy it is to transform your classroom and district!” , said Denise.
After an hour of engaging discussions regarding the importance of technology with all learners in today’s accelerating society, both Denise and I were filled with even more passion to promote the fact that teachers do change the world. In closing, we both agreed that districts, teachers, and even parents must embrace using multimedia and technology to progress all learners towards a path of positive growth and progression in our society.
We work nonstop at Ignite! Learning to provide products and services for teachers to change the world. I sincerely thank Denise and Gonzales ISD for taking the time to inform our team that all of our ideas and execution truly do bring positive outcomes.
Speaking of which, back to work for us!
- John of the Ignite! Team
